Fully protoyped our ui with low-fidelity whiteboard drawings captured by camera
Began designing structure of the application

Tasks in Progress:
Design of Application

Taskas planned for next week:
Refinement of UI prototypes
Finishing Design
Begin Coding:
Objects to be created
House - Chris
Floor - Chris
Room - Chris
Outlet - Chris

Schedule - Katie
Event - Katie
ScheduleManager - Katie
Device - Adam
Butler - Adam
EnergyButler - Adam

Issues:Time. We feel we are behind where we would like to be, but can still create the project within the timeline.

User 1
Scheduling a Task
Need to change single/every day settings
Gray out the date box when every day is selected
Items are too cluttered, can't tell if lighting radio buttons are related to the windows.
Easy to lose track of what I'm scheduling for. Might want to add a label stating what the task is scheduled for, floor or room.

Creating a New Floor
Doesn't belong in the schedule or simulate menus
Doesn't look at help
Look at Floor Select and select New Floor
Doesn't seem like you would want to look there to create a new floor
Can't figure out what should happen when a floor style is selected
Seems like you should just be able to select the room controls because they look like buttons
Imagined could select what could be controlled in each room and then would see a screen to change all of these controls
Would expect to see another screen after control selection screen because the button is 'Next' rather than 'Finish'
Confused over what the "sun" is. The lighting image.
Assume you've created a floor on top of the previous floor, so Sprinklers should not be present in the view.

User 2
Debriefing (Time Permitting)

1. Did you feel successful in using the system to complete the task?
Yes

2 . Which task(s) presented the most difficulty? Why?
2nd, unclear how to create a new floor initially. Eventually found.

3 . Where there any behaviors of the systems that seemed unexpected based on your experience with other (similar) systems?
Not really

4 . Did you find that any of the labeling of things confused you?
Clock icon perhaps, something different for entering a time.

5 . What did you like about the system?
Straightforward, everything accessible from the main page

6 . What did you dislike about the system?
Unclear at first how to create a floor

7 . Any Other Comments?
Date/Time on separate lines, change the way they are inputted.
Some sort of confirmation of clicking on room setup (radio buttons, show selection some how)
An outline or some method of showing which room is selected
Icons in schedule, reduce the clutter.

user 3
Task 1
Scheduling a Task
Confusion as to what the number within the sun is
Unsure what to put in the date box
Unsure as to format for time box
No confirmation of schedule changing
Not sure as to default values of items in scheduling a task, would be better
to individually select certain items to be activated
Should not have date box for a task scheduled for "Every Day", a better input for time (dropdowns)
Predictions or assumption of time input.

Task 2
Create a floor
Confusion with what to select to start process
Some confusion as to changing capabilities of a room (outlets, temp, etc.)
User expects sprinklers option to be on layout select

Debriefing (Time Permitting)

1. Did you feel successful in using the system to complete the task?
Yes, some more feedback upon completion of task (schedule)

2 . Which task(s) presented the most difficulty? Why?
Scheduling, detailed window was a bit cluttered. More direct mapping, i.e. how to drag twisting of shades
Temperature range (when AC is activated, when heat is activated)

3 . Where there any behaviors of the systems that seemed unexpected based on your experience with other (similar) systems?
Not expecting to change controls for each room, expects to see some confirmation of application of controls
Wants to have ability to drag and drop icons onto rooms

4 . Did you find that any of the labeling of things confused you?
Floor select does not imply that creating a floor will be on there
Some confusion as to icons
Not clear as to if right panel is status bar or control bar
Textual feedback on icons

5 . What did you like about the system?
Good visual cues

6 . What did you dislike about the system?
See above

7 . Any Other Comments?
N/A
